Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes (Movie's Review)

by - June 10, 2020

This is a documentary movie tells about the famous charming serial killer during 1970’s. Theodore Robert Bundy who killed 36 young women at that time. Theodore Bundy or more known as Ted Bundy was one of the scariest psychopath ever in America.

He was an American serial killer and necrophile who killed, kidnapped, and raped numerous young women in seven states (California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and Washington) between 1974 and 1978.

He described himself as “The most cold-hearted son of a bitch you will ever meet”. It is absolutely true, after watching this documentary you will have no idea what his soul is made of, because he do not regret at all after murdering his victims. Ted had found guilty on July 24, 1979 and after more than decade denials he was finally executed by electric chair on 24 January 1989. Hundreds of people gathered outside the courthouse to celebrate his death.

The movie consists of 4 episodes that described how extremely wicked and evil he was. There was a part that make you think that how scary and psychopath he was (karena personally gue bener- bener mikir kayak yang what de ef is that? and with no respect lansung bilang waah bener2 psiko sejati), exactly it was in the season 3 when W. Kenneth Katsabis as a Sheriff, Leon County, Florida State at that time, examined the victim’s bodies (Margareth Bowmann and Lisa Levy) who killed in Chi-Omega soroty, he saw there were mutilation by mouth and teeth. There was very large and imprinted double bite marked.

So, when Ted Bundy arrested in Pensacola, Florida on 15 February 1978, he planned something unusual. One night he asked Ted Bundy to ride around, he transported him with a series of cars, when he went to another car the door was opened and Ted saw three dentist doctor stood there, with white waistcoat on, and there was a dental chair behind them. He realized that Sheriff Ken wanted to search part of his mouth, exactly his teeth.  He started screaming and said: “Ken you can’t do this to me without my attorney”, Ken answered: “Yeah, we can”.

Ted Bundy being panic and lost control, Ken show him the devices that could he used to agree as forced him, but suddenly his mindset was changed. Sheriff Ken described that he totally became a different person “He look at me, turned around. He sat in the dental chair, lead back, put his smile on and said that I don’t need that stuff to force him, because he is not a violent person. So, he opened his mouth and asked do what we had to do”. (See, psiko banget kan, atau gue aja yang over. Haha)

Actually this movie premiered on Netflix on January 24, 2019 the 30th anniversary of Bundy’s execution. Created and directed by Joe Berlinger , which the four 60-minutes of episodes sourced from more than 100 of interviews and archival footage of serial killer Ted Bundy, as well as interviews with his friends, family, surviving victims, police evidence, and law enforcement members who handled his case.

Although this is a documentary movie I am pretty sure that you will enjoy the movie so much, because you will feel that curious in every single scene displayed. Personally, I really like this movie because I am really obsessed on this psycho.

I have been watched another version of Ted Bundy crimes, but that was beyond of my expectation, I mean like I cannot feel that movie, until my friend asked me to see this one, yeaa I love this. The story is really detail. Okay see yaaa…. Selamat nonton. Wait… in additional at the end Ted was confessed that his victims were three digits, which Sheriff Ken claims that it is could be more than 100, because he might be murdered early than 1974.

*Actually, I watched that movie last year dan ini tulisan lama, pernah saya upload tapi ditarik lagi ke draft, karena saya gak se-pede itu buat nulis artikel Bahasa inggris, padahal itu jurusan sendiri. Lhaaa kok jadi curhat. Lastly, I will apologize for any grammar mistakes and mistyped words that you found on the article above.
